25th BumbleCon Great Success

From May 17th to May 24th, the annual extravaganza that is BumbleCon was held in spectacular fashion in Glasgow, where participants from all over the world gathered to celebrate the glory of yellow and black.

Keynote Speaker

We were honoured to welcome as our keynote speaker her exulting prickliness, Cruella the Bristling, president of the Hedgehog Society and founder of the Most Noble Order of the Barbed Wire. She spoke of the many challenges that lie ahead for all creatures, be they hedgehogs, bumblebees or other. She stressed the importance of facing the troubled times ahead by rolling up in a ball and hoping for the best. This message was received with mixed reactions. The representative of the International Association of Bighorn Sheep disagreed and preferred to face whatever was coming head-on, whereas the emissary of the Ostrich Community agreed with president Cruella… at least that is what we gathered from the muffled sounds coming from the sand.

Controversy

As usual the ladybugs displayed moral turpitude and an utter lack of decency, but were expertly ejected by the security staff of Rent-an-Ant. We have made it clear that enough is enough and the ladybugs will be banned from BumbleCon 2026. We have contacted he office of Lolita the Lecherous, first madam of the ladybugs, for commentary, but other than a “You wanna come over and discuss it in person, big boy!?” from her secretary, accompanied by some expletive-rich tomcatcalling, we have not received any further printable comments on the subjects.

In Memoriam

BRENDA9895         born in Glencoe 2014 – died in Oban 2025
It is with deep sadness that we mourn the passing of Brenda9895. While we grieve her absence, we also honour her memory, and we think back with great fondness on the joy she brought to our lives. Brenda9895 was a driving force behind the Bumblebee Bridge Club. We find solace in the fact that the crab spider assured us it was quick and painless.

A funeral service will be held at Dunollie Castle. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Spider Repellent Research Foundation.
